A CASE OF KAWASAKI DISEASE COMPLICATED BY MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION AND GIANT CORONARY ANEURYSMS

Abstract

Ischeriic heart disease is quite rare in children. Since Kawasa ci disaease has been recognized, it has been identifie I as a most important cause of myocardial infarctic n in children. It is reportd that if a patient has coronary aneurysms, and these progress to a thrombotic occulusion, myocardial infarction may then occur at any time, ev, !n in several years.
We experienced a case of myocardial infarction complicatior g with giant coronary aneurysms in Kawasaki disease, which is diagnosed by chest X-ray, electrocardiograpl y, cardiac enzymes and 2-dimensional echocardiograpl y 2 years after the onset of kawasaki disease. We reviowed the literatures briefly.
